Adults and youth representatives sought for Farragut committees

The Town of Farragut is currently looking for adults and youth representatives to serve on volunteer committees.

Serving on a volunteer advisory committee, council or board is a great way to share your time, talents and enthusiasm with the Farragut community. Please note - these are working committees, and applicants should be willing to give time to monthly meetings and committee projects or events. Some committees require a background in a professional area.

Civic-minded high school juniors or seniors who live in the Farragut area are encouraged to apply to be a youth representative. Selected candidates will be expected to take part in all discussions and interact with fellow committee members, but due to legal constraints, the youth member will not have a formal vote. For information about available opportunities and an online application, visit townoffarragut.org/youth.

Adults may apply to serve on the following committees: Arts & Beautification Committee, Farragut Museum Committee, Farragut Education Relations Committee, Farragut Tourism/Visitor Advisory Committee, Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Plumbing & Gas/Mechanical Examiners, Parks and Athletics Council, Stormwater Advisory Committee and Visual Resources Review Board. Applications are available at townoffarragut.org/committees or at Town Hall. For more information, call the Administration Department at 966-7057.

The application deadline for youth and adults is 5 p.m. Friday, May 17.

Incorporated in 1980, the Town of Farragut has top schools, safe neighborhoods and high development standards, making it one of the best places to live in the Southeast.
