The Town of Farragut/Visit Farragut received the Best Festival/Event award for the Lawn Chair Concert Series at a recent East Tennessee Legislative Luncheon hosted by Greater Knoxville Hospitality Association.
The annual Excellence in Tourism awards were presented by Middle East Tennessee Tourism Council (METTC). State and local elected officials along with tourism professionals from the 16-county region attended the event where Tennessee Department of Tourism Development Assistant Commissioner Melanie Beauchamp gave the keynote address and presented the awards.
The Excellence in Tourism awards honor events, festivals, marketing projects and individuals that have enhanced and increased tourism’s positive economic impact on the 16 counties of the METTC region.
The Lawn Chair Concert Series was created by Farragut residents Amy Boling and Shandy Dixon in 2015. The free, outdoor concerts, held at Founders Park at Campbell Station, feature local and regional performers. The family-friendly shows draw audiences of 500 and more and offer children’s activities and food trucks. Learn more at facebook.com/lawnchairconcertseries.
