Do I need an attorney if I am cited to municipal court?
Anyone cited to appear before the Municipal Court may present his/her own case before the judge unless the defendant is a corporation or limited liability company. This includes the right to present witnesses, documents, and other relevant evidence. The retention or use of any attorney is up to the discretion of the party.

If the named defendant is a corporation or limited liability company, that legal entity must be represented by an attorney if it is to appear before the court.
