Tuesday April 22, 2008

The Town of Farragut announces that approximately 25 spots remain for the 21st Annual Independence Day Parade to be held Friday, July 4, 2008, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The deadline for registrations is Thursday, June 26 or until the Town receives 95 entries, whichever comes first. The Town will not accept any additional registrations after this date or after 95 entries are received.

Entries can be submitted by groups such as businesses and community organizations and can include antique cars, floats and entertainment. The Town especially encourages the participation of musical groups and bands in the parade. Parade lineup will be based on the date the registration form is received at the Town Hall and by category. Confirmation letters will be sent within two weeks of receiving registration forms or by June 26 for those who respond near the deadline. Parade lineup numbers will be available on the Town's website (http://www.townoffarragut.org/) and posted at the Farragut Town Hall at 8 a.m. on July 3. No parade lineup numbers will be given over the phone.

The 2008 Independence Day Parade will begin in the parking lot of Farragut High School, travel to Kingston Pike and continue to Boring Road, just east of Farragut Towne Square Shopping Center. Those participating in the parade must be in line at the high school no later than 8:30 a.m. on July 4.

Information and registration forms are available at the Farragut Town Hall located at 11408 Municipal Center Drive across from the Farragut Branch Post Office or at http://www.townoffarragut.org/.
