Town Offers "Sciensational" Opportunities for Kids This Summer

In June, the Town of Farragut is offering two educational summer camps for kids, hosted by Sciensational Workshops for Kids, a company that has been in operation for 30 years and offers hands-on science enrichment programs for kids ages 6 - 12. Each camp costs $140 per child, which includes all supplies, snacks and beverages, and both are taught by certified science teachers. Those attending both camps will need to bring a sack lunch. Specific information for each camp is below:

 

Advanced Robotics (Ages 7 - 12)

What: In this hands-on, exciting program, kids will use their imaginations to build and take home their own robot! Kids will also build a wide assortment of robots, including a Robot Dinosaur, Mars Cruiser, Aquabot and Space Copter.

When: Monday, June 16 - Friday, June 20, 9 AM - 12 PM

Registration and payment deadline: Friday, May 30

Prospectors Mystery Rock (Ages 6 - 11)

What: Kids will turn into prospectors and experience the thrill of discovery during this science camp while excavating for valuable gems, fascinating rocks and ancient fossils. Kids will not only learn all about their specimens but they will keep everything they find!

When: Monday, June 16 - Friday, June 20, 12:30 - 3:30 PM

Registration and payment deadline: Friday, May 30

 

The camps are sponsored by the Town of Farragut and will be held in the Community Room of the Farragut Town Hall located at 11408 Municipal Center Drive across from the Farragut Branch Post Office. To register and receive more information, call 966-7057.
