Athletic FAQ

 

1. What time do the restrooms open and close?

The restrooms at Anchor, Campbell Station and Mayor Bob Leonard parks are open from 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. the majority of the year. During the winter months, they are open limited hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  

2. How do I reserve an athletic field?

Anyone wishing to reserve a field at Mayor Bob Leonard or Anchor parks must complete a pre-pay field use packet (including the submission of all required materials). Those groups wishing to reserve fields for long-term use must attend the Farragut Parks and Athletics Council field use allocation meetings as well as complete the field use packet. Fields are rented at $10 per hour; payment must be received before the date of field use for pre-pay users. 3. What types of leagues do the Town of Farragut offer?

The Town of Farragut offers adult leagues only - coed and men's softball and coed competitive, intermediate and recreational sand volleyball. For more information about the Town's leagues, visit the Softball or Volleyball pages.

 

4. When do the Town's softball and volleyball leagues play?

The coed and men's softball leagues have two seasons - spring and fall. The spring league begins the second week of April, and the fall league begins the second week of August. The men's league plays on Monday nights, and the coed league plays on Thursday nights at Mayor Bob Leonard Park.

Volleyball has three seasons - spring, summer and fall. The spring season begins the second week of April, the summer league begins the first week of June and the fall league begins the second week of August. The competitive league plays on Monday evenings, the recreational league plays on Tuesday evenings and the intermediate league plays on Thursday evenings at Mayor Bob Leonard Park.

5. How much does it cost to play in the softball or volleyball leagues and how do I register?

The softball leagues cost $300 per team, and the volleyball leagues cost $135 per team. Registration forms and deadlines can be found on the Softball or Volleyball pages.

 

6. I want to get my child into youth soccer. Does the Town of Farragut run any youth athletic leagues?

The Town of Farragut does not run any youth leagues. There are numerous youth athletic leagues in the Knoxville area. Visit the Youth Sports information page to access contact names and phone numbers.  

 

7. Do I need a license to fish in the pond at Anchor Park?

Tennessee state law requires any person over the age of 13 to have a fishing license. For more information and to apply for a license online, visit the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Youth ages 13 and under are invited to participate in the Town's free annual Bob Watt Youth Fishing Rodeo held in June each year at Anchor Park. Check the website in June each year for all the details.

 

  

Park and Greenway FAQ

 

1. How do I reserve a shelter?

Visit the Facility Rentals page to access a shelter reservation form. Before completing and sending in the form, call Ashley Lanham, Recreation Assistant, at 966-7057 to check shelter availability for your desired date and to receive more information.

 

2. How much does it cost to rent a shelter?

Farragut's shelters cost $25 for 1/2 day rental (8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to dusk) or $40 for a full day (8 a.m. to dusk). For more information, please visit the Facility Rentals page or call Ashley Lanham at 966-7057.

 

3. Can I set up inflatables or bring farm animals to the party I'm hosting at a rented shelter?
