Health Insurance

  • Health insurance is effective after 30 days of employment for regular full time employees and the Town currently pays 92% of the cost. 
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for the Wellness Program.  
  • Multiple EAP plans are provided. 

Dental Insurance

  • Dental insurance is effective following 30 days of employment for regular full time employees.
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for full time employees and their dependents.

Vision Insurance

  • Vision insurance is also effective following 30 days of employment for regular full time employees.  
  • The Town currently pays 100% of the cost for full time employees and their dependents.

Disability Insurance


  • The Town provides long term disability insurance to all regular full time employees. 
  • Voluntary short term disability is available to regular full time employees. 

Life Insurance/AD&D

  • The Town provides full time regular employees with an individual term life insurance policy which has a benefit of 2 times an employee’s annual salary.
  • The policy includes an accidental death and dismemberment benefit equal to the life insurance.
  • Voluntary additional life insurance is available for full time regular employees, spouse and children at employee cost. 

Supplemental Insurance 


  • Voluntary accident insurance is available following 30 days of employment for regular full time employees. 
  • Voluntary critical illness insurance is available following 30 days of employment for regular full time employees. 

Paid Time Off

  • Vacation/Annual Leave

    : Employees in regular full time positions earn between 12 and 30 days per year depending upon length of Town service.
  • Sick Leave

    : Employees in full time regular positions earn 12 days per year.
  • Paid Holidays

    : There are 10 official Town holidays. Employees in full time regular positions are eligible for paid holiday time.
  • Funeral Leave

    : All employees in full time regular positions are granted 3 days of funeral leave. This leave is non-cumulative.

Retirement Plan

  • All employees in a regular full time position are required to participate in Social Security. 
  • The Town contributes to the 401(k) plan upon hire and matches the employee contribution amount dollar-for-dollar. Increased dollar-to-dollar matches are available based on years of service. 
  • Supplemental Retirement Plan:

    457 Deferred Compensation Plan-Town of Farragut employees have the option of making contributions to a 457. The Town does not make contributions to this plan.
