Title VI

Title VI

“No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any program or activity receiving federal financial assistance.”  (Title VI of Civil Rights Act of 1964)

All federal financial assistance provided to the Town of Farragut is conditional on providing assurance that the Town of Farragut services to be benefited by the funds will operate without discrimination. The assurance is a contractual obligation through which the Town of Farragut steps to effectuate this compliance.

Assurance will be a part of all contracts extending federal financial assistance through the Town of Farragut to the Town of Farragut's sub-recipients. A review of the sub-recipient’s operations will be made within (1) one year of the sub-recipient’s initial receipt of federal funds to determine compliance with the assurances.
