BIOGRAPHY
Ron Williams is a Knoxville native who grew up in Powell and Fountain City and received his education at the Knoxville State Area VoTec, SME and the University of Tennessee. He spent a number of years in Southern California managing a large manufacturing plant that produced aircraft and race engine parts before returning to East Tennessee to accept a position as a machine tool sales engineer for Sunnen Products. After 28 years and 1.3 million miles of travel with over 800 successful projects, Ron was able to retire from the road in 2015. Currently, he does some part-time consulting from his home office with most of his time spent on the phone. He stays current with today’s technology by helping race teams with special projects.
Ron was elected South Ward alderman in 2016 and mayor in 2018. His re-election as mayor was certified in August 2022. He has also served two terms on the Farragut Board of Zoning Appeals and is a 2015 Introduction to Farragut graduate. A Sugarwood resident for more than 25 years, he has served five separate terms on the Sugarwood Homeowners Association Board and is a past president. In addition, he served on the Planning/Architectural Committee for over 15 years and has worked diligently on all the neighborhood’s improvement projects.
Ron and his wife, TC, have been married for over thirty years. In his spare time, Ron is in the garage with friends restoring old cars and trucks.
