Alderman Scott Meyer

Biography

Scott earned a bachelor degree in English Education from Ball State University, a Master of Health Administration from Indiana University and a Master of Accountancy for the University of Tennessee. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.

He has worked in healthcare executive positions at Yale University School of Medicine, regional hospital systems and accounting firms, and for-profit healthcare companies including Community Health Systems and Team Health.

Although he grew up in the Midwest, lived in New England, consulted healthcare organizations all over the United States, and traveled on mission trips to Asia and Mexico, Scott knew the day he moved to East Tennessee, in May 1997, he was finally home.

Scott met his wife, Melissa, at Fellowship Church in 2000. Melissa is a graduate of Farragut High School and University of Tennessee Medical School. She served on medical mission trips to Hatti, Nicaragua, and Mexico, and has practiced pediatric medicine in West Knox County for over 20 years.

Scott, Melissa, and their two daughters, Emma and Sophie, moved to Farragut in 2011, and consider Farragut their hometown. Emma and Sophie play volleyball year round at Catholic High School, St. John Neumann Middle School and K2 volleyball club. When the Meyer family is not working or traveling to volleyball tournaments, they are enjoying Farragut’s endless greenways, hanging out in one of Farragut’s beautiful parks or serving in church activities.

Community service and hard work are Meyer family values. Scott considers it a blessing to serve his Fox Run neighbors as Vice President of their HOA board and his hometown as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals and an alderman for the North Ward.
