Plant Giveaway
The annual Town of Farragut Plant Giveaway is Back!
General Information
TN Arbor Day is at the beginning of March and the Town of Farragut is celebrating with its annual plant giveaway. Bare root seedlings (trees and shrubs) and native seed mix will be available to members of our community for FREE.
This year, we have the pleasure of being joined by members of the UT Forestry Department. They will be on site during the event to provide information and answer questions about urban trees. Town staff and members of the Town's Tree Board will also be available to answer questions you may have about trees, stormwater, streams, pollution, water quality, and other related topics. We hope to have a children's activity as well.
Trees and shrubs are provided as bare root seedlings. These young plants were grown at the TN Division of Forestry's seedling nursery in Delano, TN for one to three years. The nursery harvests the plants when dormant and soil is removed from the roots before they are coated with a root hydrating gel to keep them from drying out.
The following species are available this year:

If you reserve plants and it turns out that the plants are out of stock, you will be contacted by email. ***
Virginia Christmas Pine and Seed Mix are
OUT OF STOCK
Seed mix includes grasses and forbs native to riparian (streamside) habitats in the Southeast. This mix is somewhat shade tolerant and appropriate for intermittently to infrequently flooded sites. It is great for stabilizing slopes, so if you have an problem area with a lot of erosion, this seed mix can help!
Seed mix will be provided in pre-measured envelopes with enough seed to cover 500 square feet of land.
Please Note: this is a MIX of seeds. All of the plant seeds come together and cannot be separated by species.
