Per Farragut Municipal Code Chapter 14. Division 5. Sec.14-76 A complainant must identify themselves to the Town office prior to any action being taken.
A complaint is submitted to the Town. It is then reviewed and investigated by code enforcement. If a violation exists, code enforcement will contact the responsible party to remediate the issue. If the issue is not remediated within the time allotted a citation to municipal court is issued where fines up to $50 per day per violation may be assessed.
The responsible party must be provided notice that there is an issue. The Town provides them with a reasonable time period to correct the violation. In some cases, code enforcement will grant extensions to complete the work, or if no action is taken to correct the violation a citation to municipal court is issued and the judge will hear the case.
